The Joseph “Eddie” Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a self- motivated, energetic Housekeepers to perform the following:
Maintain a clean, safe, orderly, comfortable, sanitary attractive environment.
Maintain records of maintenance and cleaning of assigned areas and supply usage.
Other housekeeping duties as needed such as cleaning and maintaining floors.
The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.

This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $7.89 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

2. Receptionist
Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, requisition of supplies as well as additional clerical duties.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports to the City Secretary.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None; however, exercises autonomy and sound judgement over tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the first person that our citizen-customers will encounter, it is essential that the receptionist maintain a friendly, approachable, and customer-oriented demeanor to ensure that the first impression of the City is positive. Position requires strict adherence to the City dress code.
Providing a professional presentation to the public; consistent and professional dress and demeanor
Providing callers with information such as city addresses, directions to various locations, phone and Fax numbers, e-mail addresses, city website and other related information
- Greeting clients and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls
- Taking accurate messages and relaying them to the appropriate party in a timely manner dealing with queries from the public and customers
- Maintaining visitor logs; monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.
- Receiving and announcing guests and directing them to the appropriate/correct location
- Assist with the coordination of meetings.
- Coordinating meeting room bookings
- Preparing meeting and training rooms
- Tidying and maintaining the reception area
- Sorting and distributing mail.
- Providing general administrative and clerical support
- Coordinating the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Assisting in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies
- Assisting with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and collating.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- PERIPHERAL DUTIES
Represents the City at functions as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year administrative experience preferred.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
